Framed, Unique Comic-Style Puzzle Game

Framed makes many players curious because it combines comics with film stories in its gameplay. This game also received various awards even before it was officially introduced. Praise was also given by Hideo Kojima, the legendary game maker, who said Framed was the best game he had ever played.

Film Flavor Comics

Play Framed like getting two kinds of entertainment at the same time. Players seem to be listening to a comic, but together they are also watching a silent film. The treats in the game are presented in the form of many picture panels as is commonly used in a comic. However instead of displaying static illustrations, players can see the characters in it can move around making various activities including jumping to other panels creating a story like enjoying a movie.

Exciting Escape

Framed tells about the escape efforts of the characters in it. Don't know why, the characters are chased by a number of police and also some mysterious people because of a bag. The escape attempt requires the characters to run in dark narrow alleys, climb towering buildings, and play chase with the police on the train. The escape attempts of the characters could end if the police caught them. Because of that, players have to help them by rearranging the drawing panels in each scene so that their fate can change.

The escape attempt of the characters inside Framed narrated in each page similar to the comic. Each page tells the story of a scene from various kinds of complete escape scene. It is just, unlike most comic stories, players can scroll through the image panels which automatically change the scenario or sequence of events. If the player can replace it correctly, then the main character's fate immediately changes and he manages to escape from the police ambush.

Solving Puzzles

Please note that switching story panels on Framed turns out to have its own fun. Players are free to position and sort the various panels provided on the page. Only one what hinders creativity is the number of panels that can be scrolled on each page. Each formation that is made automatically brings its own consequences. If a scene doesn't work properly then the player simply rearranges the panel positions and then taps the play button on the first panel of the page. Players may repeat each scene many times until the character escapes from the police ambush to enter the next page.

The whole puzzle on Framed this can be solved using simple reasoning. Players only have to pay close attention to each panel and predict the situation that will occur in each image before tapping Play. If one looks closely, the number of possible permutations that are correct on each page can be summarized using a simple elimination step. Even if trapped in a puzzle, players just have to try the available options one by one.

Minimalist Graphic with Silhouette

Besides its interesting gameplay, Framed also has another plus, namely simple and minimalist visuals. The game is presented without the slightest text or dialogue. Players are only presented visually 2 D art noir style plus silhouette patterns while accompanied by jazz music that is played during the game. Without the choice of settings or also the front page. To introduce the game mechanics inserted in the story without being conspicuous.

Interesting gameplay with a deep unique story Framed really makes me curious, but it's a shame this game can only be played without taking a long time. Players may just need 1,5 hours to complete it. The next play will certainly be much faster. Enjoying silent games in Framed requires players to be able to guess what the characters are actually doing in a number of scenes. This game makes use of the autosave feature, so that players cannot select a particular scene so that it can be played back to guess what is going on.

But in general Framed managed to present a puzzle game theme that is interesting and different from most puzzle games. The concise gameplay is very well made plus a beautiful graphic depiction and quite fun puzzles. Well, happy solving the puzzle!
