Facts about Nagato that you may not know

Nagato was one of Jiraiya's students and the founder of the organization Akatsuki. Apart from that, he is also known as the figure behind Pain.

When he was little he was shown as a quiet child and did not show any expressions. However, since Yahiko's death, he began to change and was used by Obito to become evil.

Nagato's Origins and Early Goals

Nagato is a war victim who became an orphan. It is known that he comes from Amegakure and is a descendant of the clan Uzumaki. So it's very natural that he has red hair, like Kushina, Karin, and other members of the Uzumaki clan.

At first he formed Akatsuki with his friends who were fellow war orphans, namely Yahiko and Konan to bring peace to the shinobi world which was filled with violence. 

However, after Yahiko's death, he began to lose direction and turned evil. Together with Konan, he began to make Akatsuki an organization that would force the world into peace using any means necessary.

The First Time He Gets the Rinnegan Eyes

At first Nagato lived with his parents, namely Fuso and Ise, on the outskirts of Amegakure. When he was little, Madara The Uchiha secretly transplanted the Rinnegan without his or his parents' knowledge. 

Some time later, during the Second Shinobi World War, Nagato and his parents took refuge in their home to escape the fighting going on around them.

One day, two Konoha shinobi broke into their house looking for food, and Nagato and his parents tried to sneak out without being noticed. 

But they were discovered, so his parents attacked the shinobi so Nagato could escape.

Then the Konoha ninja killed his parents in self-defense and, after realizing that they were just civilians, tried to apologize to Nagato. 

Due to grief, Nagato used Madara's Rinnegan for the first time and killed them to avenge his parents.

His meeting with Yahiko and Konan

After burying his parents, he is now an orphan and is forced to leave home and wander in search of food. 

With scarce resources due to the ongoing war, no one he meets will help him.

Then he, who was fainting from hunger, was found by Konan and Yahiko, orphans like himself. 

Since then they have always been together to obtain food in any way, and share dreams about the future and being able to use their powers to eliminate war. 

However, to achieve this, all three must become shinobi. For that reason they approached Konoha's Legendary Sannin and asked to be taught ninjutsu.

At first Orochimaru offered to kill them to end their suffering, but Jiraiya, guilty of his participation in the war, offered to teach them jutsu.

His Training Period with Jiraiya

Jiraiya trained them for three years. However, because of his Rinnegan, Nagato easily mastered everything he was taught.

Once they were able to defeat one of his shadow clones in combat, Jiraiya decided they were ready to go out on their own and he returned to Konoha, confident they would bring reform to the country. 

Formation of Akatsuki

The three formed an organization they called Akatsuki, with Yahiko as its leader, and began advocating for an end to the war. 

Their message proved popular and they gathered a large following, with even Jiraiya occasionally hearing news of their exploits. During the Third Shinobi World War, they were approached by Obito Uchiha disguised as Madara.

Introducing himself as Madara Uchiha, he offered to help them in their pursuit and show Nagato how to unlock his Rinnegan's full potential. 

Yahiko refused the offer, suspecting Obito only intended to take advantage of them.

And in one incident, Konan was taken hostage by an enemy, who forced Yahiko to sacrifice himself. This made Nagato angry, then he summoned the Gedo Mazo Statue and used it to massacre the people holding Konan hostage.

After that, Nagato changed his philosophy and made Akatsuki an evil organization.
