On Keynote WWDC21, besides the introduction of macOS Monterey and iOS 15, Apple also introduced a new feature on FaceTime, namely FaceTime Links.

Got excited, because finally Apple will provide support for Android and Windows to be able to use FaceTime.

The new FaceTime feature on macOS Monterey or iOS 15 allows users to create FaceTime Links or invitation links for FaceTime calls.

The invitation link can later be accessed by devices other than Apple products, to be able to join a FaceTime call, both personal and group.

Now, with the presence of these features, now FaceTime is no longer exclusive to iDevices.

You can share FaceTime Links through various messaging or e-mail applications, you can even make a note of the invitation link on the calendar, which later you can immediately click on the link so you can enter the scheduled FaceTime video call.

Apple explained that FaceTime Links will remain safe to use outside of iDevice devices because it still uses end-to-end encryption for the security of its user data.

iOS 15 itself is currently still in the Developer Beta 1 version. The Public Beta version is planned for release in July/August, and the official release version still needs a few more months.

What do you think, Vicigers? Still want FaceTime exclusively on iDevices or do you agree that FaceTime can be enjoyed by Android and Windows users too? Try to write your comments in the comments column, OK?
