So, pay close attention to the following steps, so that you can execute them properly and not carelessly. Here is a review based on different scenarios:

Disable Android Auto from Automatically Connecting when USB is Connected

The first way is if you want Android Auto not to connect randomly when connecting a USB cable. You can disable this by:

  • Buka “Pengaturan”/”Settings” di ponsel Android;
  • Gulir ke bawah dan pilih menu “Fitur lanjutan”. Bisa juga gunakan fitur pencarian (biasanya ada di bagian atas layar) dengan menginput keyword “Android Auto”;
  • Cari dan ketuk “Android Auto”;
  • Buka “Kendaraan terhubung sebelumnya” (nama opsi ini bisa berbeda-beda, tergantung versi Android-mu);
  • Matikan opsi “Tambahkan kendaraan baru ke Android Auto”

Disabling from Car (If Already Automatically Connected)

However, if your smartphone is already connected and you want to disconnect it immediately, you can deactivate it directly via the car device in the following way:

  • Masuk ke menu “Pengaturan”/”Settings” di layar mobil kamu;
  • Pilih “Koneksi”/”Perangkat Terhubung”/”Connected Devices” (tergantung masing-masing mobil dan versi Android);
  • Cari perangkat yang sudah terhubung dan ingin kamu nonaktifkan. Pilih opsi untuk “Lupakan”/”Hapus Perangkat”.

Completely Disable

Often also because of the difference in Android versions or smartphone brands, the above method does not work. If you also experience this, it is better to just disable the application:

  • Buka “Pengaturan”/”Settings” di ponsel Android;
  • Gulir ke bawah dan pilih menu “Aplikasi”/”Apps”;
  • Cari dan ketuk “Android Auto”;
  • Pilih opsi “Nonaktifkan”/”Disable”. (Jika opsi ini tidak tersedia, lanjut ke langkah berikutnya);
  • Pilih “Pemberitahuan”, dan matikan opsi “Tampilkan notifikasi”;
  • Bila sudah, kembali ke menu sebelumnya lalu ketuk “Paksa Berhenti”/”Force Close”. Seharusnya dengan cara ini, tombol di langkah keempat nantinya akan bisa kamu pilih.

Removing Android Auto

For smartphones that do not use the Android OS and the application is a non-essential built-in feature of the device (bloatware), you can also uninstall it by:

  • Buka aplikasi Google Play Store, lalu cari laman “Android Auto”;
