Taking place in a fictional world Teyvat, Genshin Impact follows the Traveler's journey across countries, each worshiping the gods of the elements. The game received moderately positive reviews, praising the combat and open world design. Most of the criticism points solely to the game's microtransactions.

It's worth noting that Genshin Impact isn't exclusive to the Epic Games Store, it's just an alternative for PC players. There is no need to download Genshin Impact through the official website and Epic Games Stores.

The Epic Games launcher is not a valid option for players living in certain countries, so the first method will be the more popular and accessible method.

Through the Website

You can download this game on the official game site. The URL to download it is at https://genshin.mihoyo.com/en/download.

You must enter a new page with the yellow “Download” button on the top right. However, that button is an alternative way to get to this home page. Hence, it will not download games automatically. You have to click on “Windows” on the screen with Amber, Kaeya, Lisa and Jean to download the game.

Doing so will give you a file to download. Run it to install it in the appropriate location.

Here is a brief summary of what to do to download Genshin Impact on the Epic Games Store:

1. Open Epic Games.
2. Near the top left is the search bar. Click and type “Genshin Impact,” and search for it.
3. Since it is a free game, players must click "Get".
4. This will take the player to the order page. Since the price is $0.00, it doesn't matter.
5. Click on “Place Order.”
6. It will now appear in the player library. Go into the library (it's on the left side of the Epic Games Launcher).
7. Click Genshin Impact to select the installation location.
8. Follow the rest of the instructions that the installation wizard will provide. Once done, you can play Genshin Impact on PC via the Epic Games Launcher by clicking on it in the library.

There are currently dozens of unlockable characters and seven elements in Genshin Impact for players to choose from. However, you will only have access to four by playing the game: you (the traveler), Amber, Kaeya, and Lisa.
