How to Display Discord Activity in Android Games

Some friends might want to see what games you're playing on Discord, but many gamers don't know how to display Discord activity on android games.

While Discord is popular in schools and corporations, its main user population today is still gamers. That's why Discord is full of features that make a gamer's life a little easier.

One of those features is the ability to show server members and friends which game you're currently playing.

Users can even request to join you via discord activity if it's a multiplayer game. If a certain game doesn't appear in the playback status Discord, you should set it.

Discord was born out of necessity as a way to communicate with other gamers while playing online competitive or cooperative video games.

The history of the app begins with the release in 2009 of OpenFeint, a mobile social platform for gamers on Android and iOS (later known as iPhone OS).

Discord is popular among gamers because it has so many features and customization options. From Screen Sharing to adding audio bots for music, the possibilities are almost endless. Another benefit is that both beginners and coding experts can use this service easily.

Many players want to stay connected with each other, especially for combat and raids. If Discord friends and acquaintances try to follow up on a game you're currently playing, or want to show off what you're playing, you can update “Game Status” on Discord.

How to Display Discord Activity in Games

The first thing you have to do is enable the discord activity status option by following these steps:

1. Look to the bottom left of the screen next to the username; you should see the gears. 
2. In the options menu on the left, scroll down until you see “Activity Status.”
3. Once you enter this tab, the first option is “Show current activity as status message.” Activate!

Now, the discord activity playback status feature is enabled, but wait, don't leave “User Settings”. Start any game on the computer to see if Discord detects it. You can see it right below the option you just enabled.

If you're getting a “no game detected” notification, there's more you need to do to fix it.

Adding Games to the Discord Library

Usually, Discord detects most games, but if you play some lesser-known games, you'll have to add them manually. The method is also easy.

You can see in the image above that there is blue. Click on it and use the drop-down menu to select a game.

It should be listed here. You can even add regular programs/applications to be detected as games. Once you have selected the right game, just hit Add Game, and you're done.

Now let's check if Discord shows you which game you are playing! Back on any server, go to the Members List and find your own profile.
