The game Dark and Darker through its demo version has successfully gained popularity in a short time on the Steam platform.

This game has a PvPvE dungeon crawling genre inspired by the game Escape from Tarkov. With this genre, it can be said that Dark and Darker is one of the most unique games ever.

However, it hasn't been released in its entirety yet, this game is no longer there or it's a takedown from Steam. The reason is because the developer of this game, namely Ironmace, received a lawsuit from Nexon.

Then, how exactly about this case? To find out more, let's look at the following explanation:

Game Dark and Darker Pulled from Steam Due to Nexon Accusations

This case began when Nexon accused Ironmace of stealing assets from a game they were working on with the codename P3.

This accusation was caused by several people from the Nexon team who were working on P3 leaving and joining Ironmace. One of those who joined was the team leader of the P3 project, namely Ju Hyun Choi.

At first glance, the game from P3 has the same concept as the game Dark and Darker, which is a game with a first person dungeon crawler concept.

In the lawsuit filed by Nexon, they explained that some of the game assets used by Ironmace in the game Dark and Darker were stolen from Nexon.

Nexon also added that they also found many files that have the same name as those used by the P3 they are currently developing.

And also said that it would be impossible for Ironmace to develop their game in such a fast time, if they didn't steal files from P3.

Based on all that, finally the Nexon legal team decided to file a lawsuit through Valve to withdraw the game Dark and Darker from Steam.

Responding to these accusations, Ironmace said that the accusations filed by Nexon were baseless. Because Nexon has shown no evidence that the game they made stole assets from P3.

To answer all accusations from Nexon, Ironmace asked Nexon to show the P3 file to the court and Ironmace will also do the same.

Ironmace also explained that they also purchased various assets from the Unreal Marketplace.

Then regarding the file name they use in the game, Ironmace said that the game name is quite commonly used by other games.

Due to this denial, Ironmace asked Nexon to withdraw the lawsuit they filed, and let their game re-list on Steam.

For the time being, it looks like this game will still be taking down from Steam until this problem can find a solution.

At first, this game was planned to get a public playtest on April 14, 2023 to April 19, 2023.

However, seeing that this case is still ongoing, the possibility for this plan to be realized is very small.
