Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, The Fun of Playing Classic PS Games

Crash Bandicoot is certainly quite familiar to PlayStation gamers. This 3D platformer game made by Naughty Dog was very booming during the PlayStation I era. After that, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was released, and now the latest sequel to this game has been launched with the title Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time.

Nice cutscenes

As a continuation of Crash Bandicoot: Warped, this game still tells about the adventures of Crash and Coco who return to have to face Dr. Cortex and N. Tropy who want to rule the world armed with controllers of space and time. Even though Crash can beat Dr. Cortex in the previous series, but this criminal managed to escape from the time prison because Uka Uka helped with his magic power. Dr. Cortex and N. Tropy are again ambitious with their former dreams. The storyline is not the main goal in this game Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. However, Naughty Dog still presents good story cutscenes and is also very expressive and filled with various funny scenes that are quite entertaining.

Classic Gameplay

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is almost the same as the previous version where the developer is still loyal to the 3D platformer gameplay that has become the hallmark of the Crash Bandicoot game. Of course there is some polish here and there to enhance the quality. The appearance of the characters in the form of animation looks so smooth, the movement controls are even more responsive. Visuals appear in full color which is very pleasing to the eye. Various elements from previous games are retained. The storyline for each level that you enter is still the same, here players have to go through various obstacles with enemies that are always in their way, clean crates and collect Wumpa Fruit in order to get a peak score. After that the player can enter a higher level.

Challenging Game

So in the story the player plays as Crash and Coco. These two characters have the same skills when carrying out attacks using Spin Attack and also when sliding. The control system that has been refined makes the character's movements look smooth and responsive so that the game is quite challenging. Developers still offer other mechanisms so that the sensation of playing platform games is even more exciting. The system appears through an object called Quantum Mask. Each Quantum Mask carries a special power that players can use such as creating gravity tricks, changing the whereabouts of objects, or slowing down the passage of time. Each level of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time features a separate section that players can only pass through using Quantum Mask energy.

Players may find it difficult to use Quantum Mask the first time, especially when trying to choose the right time to release its power. But over time, of course, you will become proficient, starting to like this exciting mechanism. Most of the character move sets from Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time feel similar to the old version and have only been updated for a control system that is now smooth and responsive. But sometimes players encounter a number of areas where they can use wallruning moves when there are no platforms to step on.

If the old version of Crash Bandicoot presents a challenging level of difficulty, so does Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. The platforming gameplay that is presented is more attractive. In addition to the design or set up of each level which is prepared with a variety of difficult obstacles, players also often face conditions where character control must be carried out perfectly while also removing the Quantum Mask at the right time.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time also presents levels where there are alternate timelines so players can play other characters, such as Dr. Neo Cortex, Tawna or Dingodile. Unlike Crash and Coco, each character in the alternate timeline has a variety of unique skills. For example Dr. Neo Cortex who can use the Ray Gun as a weapon and also turns the enemy's body into a foothold.

Many Levels to Play

Apart from the advantage of a pleasant appearance so that the gameplay is more creative and attractive, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time also presents a layout of each level that has stunning details. There are at least 43 normal levels that can be completed where each level offers its characteristics, such as a variety of obstacles, the atmosphere, and opponents that must be conquered. Therefore the sensation of playing at each level will be different.

Total levels in this game that many is something that is quite fun. Players may play repeatedly to achieve a higher score while collecting collectibles that passed in the previous game. There are also 21 Flashback levels that can be unlocked by collecting Flashback Tapes at various special levels.
