Primogems and Intertwined Fates are valuable resources in Genshin Impact, so beginners shouldn't squander them in Banner Genshin Impact carelessly.

This statement is especially true for F2P players, as Primogems and Intertwined Fates are slow to come by once they take every imaginable quest and other limited methods.

These tips will be obvious to new players, but it is a guide created with beginners in mind. In order not to waste any more time, you should read some of the mistakes to avoid when choosing the Genshin Impact Banner below.

Error When Choosing a Genshin Impact Banner

Have No Plans Around Pity

Genshin Impact is a gacha game with a Pity System. Although a bit technical to understand, this linked article explains everything a player needs to know about the game's pity system.

In essence, new players don't have to worry about spending everything just to get a 5-star character in one Wish Event. Their Pity will be transferred to the next character-only Wish Event.

Perhaps out of all the misguided advice from inexperienced gacha players suddenly playing Genshin Impact. 

If you don't want 5 characters then you can't pull the Genshin Impact Banner. You should never do it. “Building Pity” is the worst mismanagement mistake you can make in Genshin Impact or in any gacha game.

Mainly because you will get unlucky, withdraw the 5-star character you don't want, and reset the pity counter.

Not Doing Research About the Genshin Impact Banner

Some of today's updates feature two separate 5 star Request events running concurrently with each other. Take something like the first phase of Genshin Impact 2.7 as an example. Both Xiao and Yelan are great characters to play, but they have different niches and play styles.

They are not interchangeable with each other, so beginners should look at what they currently have. If they already had multiple 5-star characters of one Element, then it made sense to prioritize 5-stars of a different type.

Likewise, some characters' Ascension Materials will be much more difficult for a beginner to obtain than others, being often locked behind some quests.

Opening Several Different Events at Once

Epitome prayer and character banner have completely different Pity that do not transfer to each other. Given that new Genshin Impact players don't yet have access to many characters, Travelers shouldn't waste their resources in this way. It's much better for you to focus on one of the Genshin Impact Banners.

Low AR domains are not comparable to Resin. Farm Ascension Materials needed for the main character and weapons, and if you have any Resin left: Get Mora and EXP for it! 

You can consider farming Artifacts when it's AR 40, but AR 45 will be better. You can get one or two 5-star Artifacts in one go.

The same goes for talent materials: It's fine to craft level 3-4 talent, but then it gets very expensive very quickly.

And Dungeons with High Tier talent materials provided better rewards. More, and better quality.

Rolling On Epitome Prayers When It Doesn't Have Those Characters

Genshin Impact banners for weapons can seem promising to new players if they already like their initial line-up (Lisa, Kaeya, Xiangling, etc). However, it would be a mistake for them to prioritize Epitome Invocation where featured weapons were not good for the character.

Take a theoretical featured weapon like the Thundering Pulse as an example. This is a good weapon, but beginners will only have access to Amber (who is not the ideal user of this weapon).

Unless you're a whale, pulling a character because you've heard that it's strong in the meta isn't a fault in itself, but it will quickly bore you with the game.

If you don't draw a character you like because you're “weak”, you won't enjoy gacha games in the first place. You will quickly get tired and stop playing altogether. And that's not even mentioning how pulling off a "strong" character isn't worth much in Genshin if not lucky enough in the Artifact substat lottery.

Spending Primogems on Acquaint Fates

In general, Travelers should only use Wanderlust Invocation if they already have some Acquaint Fate (10 or more in this case).

It is highly recommended that beginners avoid using Primogems on Acquaint Fates, because it is better for you to use Primogems on certain characters' Genshin Impact Banners.
