When it was first released by Moonton, the Chrono FF character was very OP and was feared by other players. Now, he is no longer the best. It turns out that these are 5 reasons why it's rarely used.

Once upon a time, when the name 'Chrono' was mentioned in Free Fire, it carries a load. Players and opponents alike know that encountering a character on the battlefield is a death sentence. Given his abilities, winning was a slim possibility.

Previously, Chrono could block damage by creating a force field which also increased the player's movement speed. Since Sky Tuned Shield Chrono is active, it has reduced reuse at every level.

However, after the OB31 update, the Chrono FF characters lost much of their importance in the game. While players still use it for combat, most only do so because they bought a character and don't want to put it to sleep. Nevertheless, he has fallen from grace, and here are some reasons why he is no longer the best.

Lack of FF Chrono Characters After the OB33 Update

Chrono has an overpower skill that can become a new META in the game, replacing DJ Alok before the latest update.

Expensive price

Expensive price

Perhaps one of the worst things about him in Free Fire is the price. Even though his ability has been drastically nerfed, he is still sold at 599 diamonds. While many players are still willing to buy the character, those who previously bought it feel cheated.

Furthermore, when comparing it to others in the same price range, such as DJ Alok and Dimitri, it falls short on many counts. The only possible reason why the price hasn't been lowered is because the character is modeled after Cristiano Ronaldo.

Low Utility

In terms of utility, the ability of Chrono FF's character, Time Turner, has lost a lot of value. Before the nerf, it could be used to attack opponents and win most fights. Currently, it only served as a defensive barrier.

Still, its utility is somewhat questionable. When maxed out, the shield barrier only lasts for six seconds. After use, it takes 120 seconds to cool down. At this level, players are much better off with gloo walls.

This character force field can only protect those within it, which means you will get stuck in it and it will be difficult to move while you are in it. Also, you can't shoot while in it.

Even though you will be protected from bullets from outside, the skill cannot protect you from enemies trapped inside with you. Enemies can invade the force field and can shoot at you, and you can't fight them back.

Practical Use In Limited Battles

While the shield barrier sounds useful, its practical application in Free Fire is rather limited. Without being able to shoot from inside the barrier, it had almost no strategic value.

For example, if a player stepped out of the barrier and tried to peek-a-boo at the target, they would likely be hit right away. Due to the force field's invisibility, players would not be able to hide their movements from enemy players.

Old Skill Cooldown Time

At base level, Chrono FF's character cooldown is set at 180 seconds, which is the second highest in the game. The only character ability that has a higher cooldown period is Wukong at 300 seconds.

Given his nerfed ability, having such a high cooldown period just doesn't make sense. For the most part, it is better for players to use gloo walls for defense than to rely on force fields. At least the gloo walls don't disappear after a certain amount of time.

Static protective circle, erected in place when a skill is activated and cannot follow player transfers. He only limited one who could shoot enemies outside while in a protective circle.

Classified skill duration, only 9 seconds. The protective circle created is relatively small and if a 4 year old enters the circle they will feel very small.

Better Characters for Less Price

When the Chrono FF character was introduced in Free Fire, the character's price was unjustified. His abilities once allowed players to dominate the battlefield with ease. However, after the nerf, there are characters that cost less but perform better.

For example, the A124 only costs 399 diamonds but is superior in every way to it. Another good example is Maro, which costs 499 diamonds. Players can use it effectively in ranged combat.

Despite having unique and interesting abilities, this character still has weaknesses. The main disadvantage to observe is that the player can only take cover in the shield for 10 seconds. So there is limited time. Also, since the size of the shield is quite small, space is limited.

Such is the reason why the Chrono FF character is no longer the best and is rarely used after the OB33 update. How, do you still want to use it? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
