There are several other reasons why you may not be able to access the search site:

Positive Internet Policy

We all know, the Indonesian Government through the Ministry of Communication and Information has implemented a “Positive Internet” policy. Meanwhile, the government blocks content that violates the law or does not comply with existing regulations.

Data Security

Furthermore, several countries also block Yandex because they are concerned about the privacy of their users' data. Moreover, Yandex is not as popular as other search engines such as Yahoo or Google.

Inappropriate Content

Despite being quite sophisticated, Yandex sometimes offers access to content that does not comply with local regulations. Of course, this is what makes the site blocked by local internet service providers (ISPs).

After knowing the reasons, here are some ways you can use to access the search engine site:

Using VPN (Virtual Private Network)

The first way, you can open Yandex by using a VPN. Meanwhile, you can access Yandex by using an IP from another country that does not block the site.

Furthermore, here are the steps you can take:

  • Download a VPN app like NordVPN, ExpressVPN, or ProtonVPN on your mobile, laptop or PC;
  • Once downloaded, install the application;
  • Once installed, open the application and connect to a server whose country does not block Yandex;
  • Once the VPN sign appears in the network section, you can access Yandex again.

Using Proxy

Another simple way that you can do is by using a proxy. The way it works, the proxy will be an intermediary between the device you are using and the internet.

Later, your IP can be disguised and blocked sites can be accessed. Here are the steps:

  • Visit a proxy site provider like hide.me, whoer.net, or proxysite.com;
  • Enter the Yandex URL into the field on the site;
  • After that, select the start browsing button and the Yandex site will open through the proxy.

Using DNS

In simple terms, DNS (Domain Name System) is a system that connects domain names with server IP addresses.

By changing DNS, you can avoid blocking by your internet service provider. Here are some steps:

  • On Windows, right-click on the network icon in the taskbar;
  • Select “open network & internet settings”;
  • Select “change adapter options”;
  • In the “status” section, select the “change adapter options” option;
  • Right click on the internet connection you are using;
  • In the “internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” section, double-click and change the DNS server;
  • You can use Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 or cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1;
  • After changing it, open your browser and try to access the Yandex site.

Using Opera Browser

Finally, you can use a browser with a built-in VPN feature like Opera Browser. With this browser, you can activate VPN without having to download additional applications.

Furthermore, here is how:

  • Download and Install Opera Browser via these links;
  • Open Opera Browser and select the “settings” menu;
  • Go to the “privacy & settings” section and enable the VPN feature;
  • Once VPN is active, you can access Yandex from Opera Browser.
