The first romantic kingdom anime is Bibliophile Princess (Mushikaburi-hime), which is an anime adaptation of a Japanese light novel by Yui.

The novel was serialized online on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from September 13, 2015 – January 23, 2022 and began publication in print on July 1, 2016.

Bibliophile Princess with fantasy and romance genres starts from October 6, 2022 to December 22, 2022 and airs on channels such as AT-X, Tokyo MX, Kansai TV, and BS NTV.

This anime tells the story of Elianna Bernstein, a noble girl who loves books so much that she is called the “Bibliophile Princess”.

One day, Prince Christopher Selkirk Ashelard, the heir to the throne of the Sauslind Kingdom, proposed to her.

This engagement was mutually beneficial for Prince Christopher Selkirk Ashelard, he wanted to avoid court politics, while Elianna Bernstein could go to the royal library to her heart's content.

The novel was published on January 15, 2019, which was produced into a manga and anime series. The anime was produced by Studio Kinema Citrus, which combines drama, romance, history and fantasy genres.

My Happy Marriage Season 1 aired on July 5, 2023, consisting of 12 episodes. Then, My Happy Marriage Season 2 airing on January 6, 2025.

This anime tells the story of Miyo Saimori, a noble girl who was abandoned in her family.

One day, Miyo Saimori is matched with Kiyoka Kudo, a cruel military captain who is feared by everyone.

As time goes by, Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudo begin to have feelings for each other, so this arranged marriage is the beginning of their relationship.

The fourth romantic kingdom anime is Taisho Otome Fairy Tale (Taishō Otome Otogibanashi), which is an anime adapted from the manga by Sana Kirioka.

The manga was serialized in Jump Square magazine from July 4, 2015 to September 4, 2017, collected into 5 tankōbon volumes.

This historical-romance genre anime was produced by Studio SynergySP which started airing on October 9 – December 25, 2021 with a total of 12 episodes.

The story is set in 1921 Taishō era Japan. Tamashiko Shima, a son from a wealthy family, is involved in a car accident that kills his mother.

From that incident, his father took him to the family villa in the Chiba mountains.

There, he feels hopeless and trapped, but suddenly Yuzuki Tachibana, a girl who was bought by his father to be his future wife.

Yuzuki Tachibana is very cheerful and enthusiastic, she helps cure Tamashiko Shima's depression. As time goes by, they fall in love and eventually move in together.

Although Taisho Otome Fairy Tale does not explicitly display royal elements, it does display the Taishō era setting as a transition between feudal traditions and modernization in Japan.

The anime adaptation was produced by Kinema Citrus. The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 1 aired on January 9 – June 26, 2019 with a total of 25 episodes.

Meanwhile, The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 aired on April 6 – June 29, 2022. The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 aired on October 6 – December 22, 2023.

This anime tells the story of Naofumi Iwatani, an otaku who goes to a parallel world with three of his friends to become the Four Cardinal Heroes.

All four of them are equipped with legendary weapons, but Naofumi Iwatani receives a shield which makes him often considered the weakest.

He was slandered, Naofumi Iwatani became less confident. Later, he buys a slave named Raphatalia and finds the egg of a monster named Filo hatching.

This anime tells the story of Nike Lemercier, the fourth princess of the Rain Dukedom who has the ability to summon rain by singing.

Nike Lemercier goes to the Sun Kingdom to marry the Sun King, Livius Ifrikia, under duress for the sake of her country.

After arriving there, Livius Ifrikia ordered Livius Ifrikia to call rain to comfort her. As time went by, their relationship grew closer.
