Athena's Shield

Athena Shield is the best magic resist item in MLBB. How come? It turns out there are several reasons for that. Please scroll down.

Mage is one of the strongest assassins in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Usually located in mid lane or EXP roles, mages are the bane of every squishy phero in the Land of Dawn.

Fortunately, there are items such as Athena's Shield, Radiant Armor, and Oracle that can reduce magic damage in the game.

But which magic resist items are the best to buy in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang? Let's see the advantages of Athena's Shield as a magic resist item in Mobile Legends

Athena's Shield Excellence As a Magic Resist Item

Comparing Athena's Shield, Radiant Armor, and Oracle in Mobile Legends

Athena's Shield

Comparing the three main magic barrier items, they all gave similar stats. What makes them unique is their passivity. For Athena's Shield, a shield will appear when taking magic damage. This shield reduces magic damage received by 25 percent for five seconds.

For Radiant Armor, the user has increased the magic damage reduction by 3-10 points after receiving Magic Damage and can stack up to six times. Finally, Oracle increases shield absorption and HP regeneration effect by 30 percent.

Until now the meta mage is still rampant in every game. One of the best items to deal with it is to use Athena's Shield.

Apart from providing the highest magic resistance in the game, this item can also save dying heroes with the addition of a sizable shield which will continue to increase as the game progresses.

The potential for this item from early game to mid-late game is very good. However, if you play it for more than 20 minutes, the shield from this item is no longer very effective.

Why Athena's Shield Must Be Purchased in Mobile Legends

Athena's Shield

Firstly, Athena's Shield gave her base stat the most magic resistance at 62 compared to Radiant Armor's 52 and Oracle's 42.

If you are looking for a strong magic resistance item and your hero doesn't have much regeneration skills or if Estes or Floryn are not in your team composition, Oracle is out of the picture.

Radiant Armor does wonders against DPS magic heroes like Chang'e, Yve, and Alice. However, it doesn't protect you much from imminent death if you use a marksman or assassin. This will reduce the damage but it is likely that you will still perish from a full combo.

This is where Athena's Shield appears. The 25 percent magic reduction is huge and is a lifesaver in tough situations, even for squishy heroes.

If the enemy has DPS magic damage, a better solution is to buy Athena's Shield first before using Radiant Armor, because Radiant Armor is usually not enough in the late game stages.

Against High Damage Burst

Athena's Shield

This item has a unique passive shield, which activates when receiving magical damage. This item will reduce the magic damage received by 25 percent, for 5 seconds (including the magic damage that activates this effect).

But it is better that this item is used to fight against Mage (magic damage) heroes with high burst damage, for example, Eudora.

Eudora deals high burst damage with her skills instantly (non-sustainably). So Athena Shield is good for using high burst damage. In contrast to good radiant armor, if against continuous damage, for example, the best Chang'e.

Highest Magical Defense

Athena's Shield

This item can also provide the highest magic defense in MLBB. Athena Shield must be used by Tank and fighter heroes while fighting Mage heroes. Athena's Shield sells for 2150 gold.

This item provides an additional 900 hp, 62 magic defense and four hp regen. Athena's Shield has a passive skill that reduces 25 percent magic damage for 5 seconds.
