Valorant is a game that has scene very competitive esports. Not only international teams that shine, there is a team from Indonesia that has achievements that deserve thumbs up.

Even though Valorant is a relatively new game, the esports output from the game is not small. Organizations from all over the world have begun to form esports teams specifically for Valorant and esports organizations from Indonesia are no exception. Alter Ego Esport, one of the Indonesian esports organizations formed in 2018 now has a Valorant division.

Alter Ego Esport's Valorant division was founded on October 21, 2020. Tehbotol, frizznatsz, berserx, 3nable, and frostmind were the first rosters to be announced as the Alter Ego Esport team. Over time, Alter Ego Esport's roster has continued to change, until now it has the following roster:

  • naTz – Jonathan Adiputra
  • Moji – Lastiko Reyanick
  • Kush – Bryan Setiawan
  • huliolio – Axel Julio
  • deLb – Delbert Tanoto
  • adrnking – Adrian Setiawan (captain)

Starting from Jonathan Adiputra who uses the nickname naTz or noxxy, he is a sentinel player who often uses Chamber, Sage, and Fade. Because he often uses the Chamber, he is entrusted with holding the Operator or AWP.

Bryan Setiawan with the nickname Kush is an Initiator agent player for Alter Ego Esports. He often uses Sova, Fade, and KAY/O to help the team with initiations. He joined in October 2021 from his old team, the MORPH Team with Lastiko Reyanick (Moji).

Axel Julio using the nickname huliolio or axeLuvYa is a controller player who often uses agents with smoke skills such as Brimstone, Omen, and Viper.

Delbert Tanoto is also a former MORPH Team player with Kush, Moji, and huliolio. Now he plays as entry fragger who use duelist agents namely Jett, Neon, and Raze.

Adrian Setiawan as the captain is the player who recently joined Alter Ego Esports. Adrian just joined in January 2022, leaving his old team, BOOM Esports. With the adrnking nickname, he acts as an initiator who often uses Breach, KAY/O, and Skye.

Valorant Division Achievements

In 2020, Alter Ego Esports won the ESL Community Clash by defeating BOOM Esports in the final match. Alter Ego defeated BOOM Esports with a score of 3:0. They took first place and won a prize of $3,000 USD. Uniquely, at that time Adrnking was still playing for BOOM Esports and won the MVP or Most Valuable Player at the tournament.

Alter Ego Esports again won an international tournament in the same year, namely the AOC Masters Tournament 2020. As one of Indonesia's representatives, Alter Ego Esports managed to bring home $5,000 USD as a prize for being the first winner in the tournament. They defeated the Thai representative team, Overtime Esports, with a score of 3:0.

In 2021 Alter Ego Esports started their journey towards VCT 2021. Unfortunately they failed to qualify by winning 3rd place in the 2021 VCT tournament: Southeast Asia Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs. They then won the TEC Challenger Series 6 in December by defeating the Philippines Team named Action PH with a score of 3:0. They took home the first place prize of $10,000 USD.

Currently, Alter Ego Esports is fighting for a slot to qualify for Champions 2022, the highlight of the 2022 VCT tournament. They have a chance to qualify if they win the APAC Last Chance Qualifier.

The Indonesian Esports team is actually not just men. Women also have esports achievements that deserve thumbs up, one of which is Alter Ego Celeste. This Esports team was created in 2021 after Alter Ego Esports acquired a Southeast Asian team called Celeste Esports and eventually formed Alter Ego Celeste. Curious anyone? Here is the Alter Ego Celeste roster:

  • Eisberg – July Kusuma
  • Enerii – Odella Abraham
  • Ayumiiii – Nurul Aini
  • Oreopheliaa – Risalma Agnia
  • Nabbsky – Nabila Sulthana

Alter Ego Celeste's initial roster is still the same as the current roster, but there are two members who left the team, namely Margeaux (Dhammamitta Marvella) and Tarathiel (Ryona Tan). They are replaced by Nabila Sulthana or Nabbsky as players who often use agents Fade, Killjoy, and Viper as controllers.

July Kusuma with the nickname Eisberg is an initiator player who often uses agents from Sova, Breach, to Neon. Odella Abraham or Enerii, often uses Raze, Jett, and Neon agents as entry fraggers.

Nurul Aini or often called Ayumiii as her nickname is an Alter Ego Celeste player who often uses Chamber, Omen, and Sova as initiators. Risalma Agnia or Oreopheliaa often uses Brimstone, Sage, and Omen as controllers.

Celeste's Alter Ego Achievement

In the year Alter Ego Celeste was formed, they managed to win many tournaments. They won the Legion of Valkyries tournaments in March and June in 2021. In addition, they also won their fourth, fifth, and sixth VCT Game Changers SEA: FSL Open 2021. Each of the VCT Game Changers SEA gave a prize of $1,500 USD to Alter Ego Celeste as the winner.

The highlight of the VCT Game Changers SEA tournament is VCT 2021: Game Changers SEA FSL Elite where Alter Ego Celeste won the tournament against the Mad Army and won a prize of $10,000 USD.

Currently, Alter Ego Celeste is taking part in VCT 2022: Game Changers APAC Open and they have managed to win all four tournaments. Due to their four wins in a row, they qualified for the VCT 2022 APAC Elite stage just like the previous year.
