Even though Apple AirTag was launched on April 30, it has not yet entered Indonesia through its official resellers, such as iBox, digimap, etc.
At least for those of you who can't wait, you can entrust it to friends/family in countries where the Apple Store is ready to carry out the first sale of Apple Airtag.
So, if you are considering buying the latest location tracker from Apple, then you should first think carefully about where you will spend a lot of time in your daily life.
Due to recent user reports, Apple AirTag does not work well in multi-floor buildings.
Although Apple on its official web home page states that AirTag is a very easy way to track your stuff. Hook one to your house/car/motorcycle/etc keys, tuck it in your backpack, or other items. And after that, voila, these items are on your radar which you can see in the application on the iPhone screen.
Back to the initial discussion. So, for you Apple fanboys, or those of you who think you want to get hype by buying this Apple AirTag tracker, you should think twice, if you spend more time in an apartment or office in a high-rise building.
This first appeared on the XDA Developers forum, which mentioned in its review while using AirTag, that the product actually had a problem with the altitude sensor, or that this Apple AirTag doesn't actually have an altitude sensor (altimeter).
The person stated that when he placed the AirTag with one of his keys and tried to place it on a different floor, the iPhone simply couldn't pinpoint exactly where the key was.
The information you get when you look for an AirTag in a high-rise building is that your AirTag is only in the building, without knowing which floor it is!
So AirTags certainly cannot recognize which floor you are currently on, if you are in a multi-storey building/house. Most likely it is because this AirTag is only designed to be used on 2D or 2.5D maps.
On the forum, this person also seemed annoyed, because many replied, that the problem of 'height' or AirTag not being able to read the floor of a building/house was not a big problem!
He mentioned, you can talk like that because you live in a house with 1 floor, it's different from me who has to live in an apartment with many floors, because I have to rent a location close to his place of work.
Apple also informs on its official web page that AirTag will function optimally when paired with Apple's newest iPhone devices, such as some of the following devices:
- iPhone 11
- iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini
- iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
So, for those of you who still use older iPhones, such as the iPhone 6/7/8/X, and other series before the iPhone 11, you should wait for reviews first, from people who have used them alongside older or slightly older Apple devices. already mentioned.

Apple AirTag can not be compared with Android!
Although the XDA Developers report indicated AirTags not working properly in high-rise apartments/buildings, based on this issue, it turns out that there are many other situations that can cause the problem.
For example, if you work in an office with multi-storey floors, live/work in a swanky hotel, or when you are in a large hospital, school, government building, or the like. You will also have problems when you want to find an AirTag with your iPhone, especially if you completely forget it and have no clue where it is.
Situations like the one above really need AirTag performance which should be able to quickly find and show the location where the items we forgot to put.
Location issues with AirTags aren't their only drawback, there are others. Yes! Correct! They're expensive, and they don't work with Android phones!
But, hopefully Apple will soon find a solution to this problem, so that AirTag can at least really benefit those who need it.
