Agent With Codename Sprinter Valorant, Will Be The 18th Agent?

Valorant fans around the world are waiting for the release of Agent 19 with the codename Sprinter Valorant, as Riot Games gradually unveils the newest additions to their roster of agents.

Valorant was introduced to the global FPS community in early 2020 via a closed beta release which featured the option of 10 different agents with another 7 added at a later stage of play via incremental updates. Riot Games is expected to release its newest agent in the coming weeks.

While the upcoming agent is the 18th character to be released in Valorant, the Valorant Sprinter is expected to be released as Agent 19 of the Valorant games, after Chamber was released as Agent 18. The 19th agent from the Valorant side has not been announced by Riot Games, and is waiting future releases.

Agent With Codename Sprinter Valorant: Release Date, Abilities And More

Entering 2022, Riot Games has succeeded in turning Valorant into an exemplary FPS game and one of the most actively played Tactical Shooters in the world. Riot gives players a choice of several agents categorized according to their agent class, namely – Duelist, Initiator, Controller, and Sentinel.

The official image of the agent has not been released yet. Sprinter is an agent of an unknown class, emerging from Manila, Philippines. Voice channels released so far have confirmed that the upcoming agent will be a woman. Tagalog dialogues associated with the agent have confirmed his ethnicity as Filipino.

Sprinter Valorant: Release date

An upcoming agent, codenamed “Sprinter” is expected to come into the game along with the next Act of Valorant. Episode 4 of Act 1 of Valorant is scheduled to begin on January 12, 2022, the day after the current Act ends.

While an exact release date for Sprinter Valorant hasn't been announced yet, Riot Games is expected to follow the previous trend and release the upcoming Act and Agent collectively on January 12, 2022.

Ability

The specifications for the Sprinter Valorant capability toolkit, including the agent class, have not been provided by Riot Games. However, in the December issue of State of the Agents, Riot alluded to their newest member with a picture of agent shoes.

In a recent State of Agents, Riot Games revealed:

Although an agent's individual abilities are unknown, the Sprinter Valorant is believed to possess skills that utilize lightning and revolve around an unreal agent's speed. In addition, the first teaser for agents that was released during the Grand Final of Valorant Champions 2021 also provides insight into the abilities of agents.

In a distorted voice, the agent can be heard saying, "I'm going fast" and "Prepare to be struck by lightning", possibly hinting at a signature or passive ability involving speed or an ultimate ability that uses lighting-induced speed.

"Sprinter" is the codename given to the agent in the game files, similar to how the Chamber is codenamed "Deadeye". The real name of the agent is what the fans have been waiting for.

The Sprinter was initially spotted in the Valorant game files in early July 2021, following the Chamber code.

All About The Next Agent Valorant Coming in Episode 3 Act 4

Previously, Valorant Champions Tour 2021 started massive discussions about the next Valorant agent when Riot Games released a teaser with a new agent voice channel. The knowledge community explored the voice channel and found some interesting facts, such as the agent is from the Philippines and has electricity-based powers.

Recently, ValorLeaks shared new information about the new agent on Twitter. The leaks suggest that the agent will "outperform" everyone else in Valorant and be able to fight with ease. Conjecture about the power of lightning has also been proven by looking at the illustration attached with the tweet.

Furthermore, the new agent's codename is “Sprinter”, lending validity to the concept that agent skills are focused on speed. The overall effect of the agent on Valorant is unknown. However, it will be interesting to see another Duelist with movement-based abilities.
