Luminaria's setting is set around ancient creatures known as Primordial Beasts. Every time they die, mana is released from their bodies giving birth to the present world.

The humans who lived at that time were divided into 2 major factions. These factions are the Jerle Federation and the Gildlan Empire.

The Jerle Federation is a group of states that worship Primordial Beasts and coexist with them.

Most of their fighters carry an "Embleo" on their bodies that allows them to utilize their reserves of hidden magical power when needed.

The military of this federation got their soldiers from the elite Blaze Class to defend their country from enemy attacks.

The second faction was the Gildlan Empire which saw Primordial Beasts and their mana as a means to an end.

They exploited the Primordia Beasts to build high-tech cities for the prosperity of their own nation.

The Empire provides “reactors” for fighters that allow them to utilize artificial mana reserves.

The conflict between the two factions heats up when the new imperial councilor, August Wallenstein, has plans to conquer the world and take revenge on his family's killers.

Meanwhile neutral adventurers try to find the true connection between Primordial Beasts, mana, and the fate of the world.

Unlike other games that use a gacha system, Luminaria allows players to use one of 21 characters from the start.

The gacha system is usually used to get various weapons and costumes to increase character levels and battle power.

There are also rare 5-star costumes and weapons to unlock powerful new “Mystic Artes”. Characters can use them in battle.

Players can play in individual character stories or team up and form groups of 4 players to fight co-op bosses called “Fave Fests”

“Fave Fests” is rotated every week, where each player can choose their 3 favorite characters that use the weapon of their choice that week to use in battle.

Rewards are distributed when players collect more points at the end of the battle and players can try again as many times as they want.

Most gameplay relies on large buttons near the center of the screen on the player's device.

By pulling it in one direction, you can move the game character. To release an attack, all you have to do is tap or press it for a few seconds.

Each character issues an attack depending on the weapon they use. The characters can also cast Mystic Artes filled with attacking enemies.

Mystic Artes can also be filled instantly by consuming ingredients in equipment and getting healing effects from them.

That's a brief review of the game Tales of Luminaria. Even though you can't play it anymore, you can watch the adaptation of this anime on Crunchyroll.
