Material Drops and Farming Abyss Mage Locations
Abyss Mage is an elite enemy type that is part of the Abyss Order enemy line.
Compared to enemies with the same sequence as Abyss Herald or Abyss Lector, this enemy is more common.
When you successfully fight this enemy, you will be given 30 drops, namely: Dead Ley Line Branch (2 star rarity), Dead Ley Line Leaves (3 star rarity), and Ley Line Sprout (4 star rarity).
Each Mage level will of course provide different material drops, namely:
- Dead Ley Line Branch (level 1+)
- Dead Ley Line Leaves (level 40+)
- Ley Line Sprout (level 60+)
The higher the level of the enemy you defeat and the higher the World Level or Adventure Level, the more drops will be and the higher the rarity of the material.
The location of Abyss Mage can actually be said to be concentrated in one place.
Enemies with this shield are generally found near ruined buildings or usually in Hilichurl's tent with Samachurl, Metachurl, and others. Not infrequently also found in the ruins of Khaen'riah heritage.
You can also find it in abandoned areas like Tsurumi Island or Stormterror Lair which is the old city of Mondstadt.
To make farming easier, you can use Interactive Map or Adventure Book which will provide the best route for farming the given material.

Tips for Defeating the Abyss Mage
This enemy is known to be annoying to fight even though it actually has low HP.
The difficulty of fighting the Abyss Mage is because this enemy in particular has a very strong elemental shield (high RES), often teleports to various places, and mid range attacks from spells that deal great damage with mechanics that make it difficult.
Until now there are 4 types of Abyss Mage with different elements, namely: Electro, Cryo, Pyro, and Hydro. Each of these elements will create a shield and attack with the same element.
Removing shields from the Abyss Mage is time consuming. The easiest way to remove the shield is attack with an elemental weakness thereby creating an elemental reaction.
Hydro Mage will have a weak Hydro shield with elements cryo, causing this enemy to experience Freeze. You can use other elements like Dendro as a second option.
Shield Pyro Mage will be weak against the elements hydro which causes the Vaporization reaction. You can also use Electro although it's not as effective as Hydro.
Electro Mage will be weakest with Pyro, Cryo, and Dendro which causes Overloaded (Pyro), Superconduct (Cryo), and Quicken (Dendro) reactions.
Cryo Mage will be very effectively attacked using pyro, produce a melting reaction.
You can lower all of these Mage shields with Anemo or Geo elements even though they are not effective. In addition, character and enemy levels do not affect the drop rate of the RES bar of the shield.
Once the shield is down, you must quickly defeat this enemy because they will quickly use the shield again.
When producing shields, these Abyss mages will create circular attacks similar to the attacks they give around the mage and can deal damage to characters.
This is the guide to defeating the Abyss Mage from the Genshin Impact game. Is there a weapon you use that requires a drop from this enemy?
