Profile and Story of Catalyst Apex Legends
Catalyst's real name is Tressa Crystal Smith, an elegant and proud woman who loves crystals more than most people.
Catalyst was born in Boreas, a planet which faltered with a waning moon. Harmony and efficiency are required here, but they never sit well with Tressa.
He is more comfortable with other people who like to spend their time reading crystals, moon rituals, and private magic.
They supported Catalyst during her search for identity and transition, making her teen life easier and less lonely.
When her closest friends try to protect the moon from the reach of corporate corporations, Catalyst is trapped.
He then ran away from home, taking solace in the place his friends cared about the most which was Cleo, their moon.
There he joins the Terraforming crew hired to repair space objects. Catalyst learns how ferrofluid works and combines it with a certain talent for magic.
Catalyst became close to her community and when the heat in Boreas subsided, her old friends returned home. He had finally found a place to be himself.
That's when Apex Games arrived and swept him out of his new family. But Catalyst will not be lost that easily.
If Games were to get in his way, then he would make it to his advantage to earn the prize money and help his family.
He sees a win for him in the future and Catalyst will look to get that chance.

Catalyst ability
Catalyst Apex Legends have ability tactical, passive, and ultimate with various effects. Here is an explanation.
Piercing Spikes (Tactical)
Catalyst will throw ferrofluid which then turns into nails when the enemy comes closer. Spikes will start moving when the enemy is within 10 meters of the center.
Piercing Spikes can be thrown simultaneously when the player is doing other activities without interfering with their function. Ferrofluid can pass under the closed door.
Catalyst will gain immunity to enemy spikes. Piercing Spikes has a cooldown of 25 seconds.
Barricades (Passive)
Barricade can be used to strengthen doors and lock enemies. Catalyst can strengthen up to two doors including rooms where the door has been destroyed.
Players can hold down the buttonalternative actions” near the door for 0.5 seconds to strengthen existing door panels or create a barrier if the door panels disappear.
A door reinforced by Barricade requires 4 melee attacks to destroy whereas the ferrofluid barrier can be destroyed with just two melee attacks.
Dark Veil (Ultimate)
Catalysts can form a wall of impenetrable ferrofluid. The wall is 55 meters long by 8 meters high in line with the Catalyst's reticle line.
Dark Veil lasts for 30 seconds and will not block bullets, weapons, or other abilities from penetrating walls.
Opponents who cross this wall will get a slow effect of 15% and a blind effect for 7 seconds.
The Catalyst itself will be immune to the slow or blind effects of Dark Veil, no matter who created it.
