Lenovo IdeaPad L340-17IRH series laptop Gaming is a gaming laptop with a simple design. You can use it to play games with average graphic configurations. This device offers a good video card as well as a powerful processor. Is this laptop really worthy to be a mainstay para gamers?

Lenovo IdeaPad L340-17IRH series laptop Solid Plastic Body

When you first take the Lenovo L340-17IRH 81LL00GNMH out of the box, two things stand out. The first is that the device is made entirely of glossy gray plastic, which feels flimsy. The case for the IdeaPad L340 is made entirely of plastic. The color of the kesing is called granite black. The top of the unit and the back of the cover have a metallic look, with black bezels. This laptop is 10 mm thicker than the IdeaPad L340-17API series. The second is that the device is very heavy, because it weighs about 3 kilograms. That makes it impractical to carry around in your backpack. But this is indeed a gaming laptop, so it's only natural that the weight is quite good because the specifications are above standard. Lenovo L340-17IRH 81LL00GNMH may not be a suitable laptop if you are going to take it on a lot of trips.

Hard Keyboard

The first thing you run into when you boot up your laptop is the keyboard and touchpad. The keyboard stands out with a light blue border around the keys. The buttons are a little hard to press so this isn't the ideal laptop for college or school. This laptop does have a backlit keyboard, which will come in handy when you have to type when the room lights are off. The touchpad it carries is of average quality. Finger touch response is quite good. There is no difference between the left and right side. That means you always need two fingers to do a right click.

Bright Screen

The laptops in this series adopt a Full HD IPS screen with anti-glare technology. The colors that appear on the screen look absolutely beautiful from every viewing angle. Thanks to the anti-glare screen, you won't be bothered by annoying sun reflections when playing games outdoors.

Dolby Stereo audio

If you like to watch series or movies on your laptop, you don't always want to connect your speakers or headphones. Sometimes, it's more practical to use the built-in speaker. The internal speaker he carries is capable of producing clear and clear sound. Of course, these speakers are not as good as external speakers. But it's been very satisfying.

Complete Connector

This laptop has 2 standard USB 3.1 ports, a USB-C port, an HDMI port, and a headphone connector. Two USB ports weren't enough for a gaming laptop, so Lenovo added one too. It's just a shame, this laptop doesn't offer an optical drive, and you can't add one later either. Therefore if you need an optical drive, you should go for the USB model. This is another difference compared to the L340-17API series. The L340 doesn't even adopt a maintenance flap. To access the inside, you have to remove the bottom case. To do so, all screws at the bottom of the case must be removed. Then you can remove the bottom of the case using a thin pry tool, before you gain access to the solid state disk, fan, WLAN module, memory, and battery.

Webcam with Cover

There is something striking that lies above the webcam of this latest Lenovo laptop series. It's a slider mechanism that you can move from left to right. That slider has a function. When you move the slider, the shutter slides in front of the webcam. That way, you will be protected from hackers who secretly want to watch you through the webcam camera. Now you no longer need to stick tape to your webcam to cover it up.

Gaming Performance

This laptop series is run by a quad-core Core i5-9300H processor. The CPU is based on the Coffee Lake architecture and runs at a base clock speed of 2.4 GHz. Through the Turbo feature, the clock speed can be increased to 4 GHz (four cores) or 4.1 GHz (one core). Hyper-threading (two threads running per core) is also supported. In terms of gaming performance, the Lenovo IdeaPad L340-17IRH laptop doesn't need to be doubted. The powerful processor and fast NVMe SSD ensure the system runs fast and smooth. Processing power is also supported by a middle-class GPU that is capable of bringing all the latest computer games to the screen. PC-Mark benchmark results are quite high. Unfortunately, Lenovo let some of the performance gains go unused, as working memory can only run in single channel mode exclusively. Dual channel mode also cannot be activated later, because the laptop only has one slot for working memory.
