Rise of the Ronin is an open world game action RPGs with a Japanese background in the Bakumatsu era (1853-1867) developed by Team Ninja.

Rise of the Ronin Game Storyline 

Rise of the Ronin set in the Bakumatsu period. This period was the final years of the Tokugawa Shogun era and the period leading up to the restoration of the Meiji emperor. 

Time flow used Rise of the Ronin the same as the one used in samurai anime Gintama. Even several characters such as Katsura and Sakamoto appear in this game as dissidents of the Shogun. 

But when the game starts, you will take control of two characters nicknamed "Blade Twins". They are a pair of twins who were specially trained by the Kurosu clan to become swordsmen and assassins who fought against the Tokugawa Shogunate. 

One day while on a mission with his partner, the “Blade Twins” were separated and their village was completely massacred by shogunate spies.

Because there is no home to return to, you will end up playing as a ronin and exploring the country in search of the missing "Blade Twins".

On this trip you will meet Japanese historical figures such as Ryoma Sakamoto and Marcus Samuel, each of whom has their own interests in Japan. 

During that time, the two children were taught swordsmanship by the Bladesmith, who became "The Master" until they grew up. This ability of theirs was eventually nicknamed "Twin Blade" or partners sword.

Historical events and the appearance of real Japanese historical figures in this game are a special attraction. 

Another attraction of this game is multi-choice system where you will be presented with various conversation options. Your answer choice greatly influences the ending of the story in the game.

Rise of the Ronin will take you to the tumultuous Edo era in Japan. As a samurai without a master, you will explore a vast world, face tough enemies, and determine your own storyline.

Creating Characters and Playing Styles

The difficulty levels in this game are divided into three: Dusk (Easy), Dawn (Medium), and Twilight (Hard).

When you just start the game, you will be asked to create a character. You can freely determine the character design as you wish.

Aspects of the character that you can determine include facial appearance, height, alert style, skin color, voice, and the default clothes worn by both characters. 

What's more interesting is that you can determine the Blade Twin character's sword style. The sword style options available include: Killer, Breaker, Seducer, and Sapper.

Combat and Gameplay Features

In the initial phase of the game, you will act as Blade Twin. So you can take turns using the Samurai character.

However, there are times when you have to fight to defeat the enemy alone. The character you use in Rise of the Ronin will be equipped with swords and weapons to defend yourself. 

When facing an enemy, you will be asked to move forward, dodge, or retreat so as not to be hit by the enemy's attack.

The character you use has Health Bar and Ki, as well as the enemy. Apart from that, the character you use also has a parry.

When the blue bar runs out, it will be easy for your opponent to injure your character. Vice versa, when parry your opponent drops drastically, you can attack him more easily. 

Another cool feature in the game Rise of the Ronin is mechanical Counterspark. 

With this feature, the character can provide an alternative attack or repel an opponent's attack, causing him to lose balance. 

When the enemy loses balance, it is the right moment to launch a series of fatal attacks. 

Through continuous attacks, the opponent will run out of Ki, which allows you to launch more powerful and deadly attacks.

Skill Point and Longhouse features

To restore character stamina, in this game there is a feature “Longhouse” in every city you visit. Apart from being useful for resting, this feature is also useful for chatting with allies.

Feature Longhouses allows you to strengthen relationships with allies in each city. 

To strengthen relationships with allies, you need to carry out missions to increase levels, collect items or fight with allies.
