Yoriichi Tsugikuni lived about 500 years ago during the Sengoku period. He is the strongest demon hunter ever in history.

Yoriichi is the creator of the Sun Breathing Technique which eventually evolved into the Hinokami Kagura used by Tanjiro and the other members of the Kamado family.

He has a twin named Michikatsu Tsugikuni who will later become a demon and join the 12 moon demons.

Yoriichi is a patient person and really respects other people. He always has a calm facial expression and rarely shows his feelings.

Because of his nature and expressions, not many people understand how Yoriichi really feels except his wife, Uta.

Little Yoriichi always admired his older brother. Michikatsu had a dream of becoming the strongest samurai in all the land, so Yoriichi said that he would become the second strongest samurai after his brother.

Yoriichi is a person who really loves his family. He tried to take care of his sick mother without anyone knowing.
