Until generation IX, there were 92 recorded Pokémon with type Bugs. Like other types, Pokemon Bugs have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Together with Grass-type Pokemon, they become types Pokémon the most that other types can withstand. In total there are 7 types of Pokemon that have resistance to Pokemon Bugs.

Characteristics of Bug Type Pokemon

On average, Bug type Pokemon have the lowest base HP among the total base statistics of all Pokemon types.

Apart from having the lowest basic HP statistics, this type of Pokemon also has the lowest basic Special Attack statistics of all other Pokemon types.

Pokemon that have Protean or Libero abilities will become Bug type Pokemon if they use the Move used by Bug Pokemon.

Pokemon with Color Change, Imposter, RKS System or Multitype will turn into Bug type Pokemon if they are hit by an attack with a Bug type move.

They can also change if thrown into the arena to fight a Bug type enemy, have a Bug Memory, or are holding an Insect Plate.
