There are several facts about this character that we need to know, including:

Name taken from Italian

The name Arlecchino in Genshin Impact is taken from “Commedia dell'arte”, an ancient theater from Italy. In the original story, Arlecchino, also known as “Harlequin”, is depicted as a poor man from Bergamo. Her diamond-patterned costume reflects her shabby clothing, a symbol of her poverty.

Mysterious Appearance

When she was first introduced, she was described as a woman in a jacket with an appearance similar to Eula, but with differences in eye and hair color.

He was from the Fontaine Region, had a tall build and pale skin. His eyes are unique with black irises and red "x" shaped pupils.

Her long hair is tied up and white with black streaks. He wore an elegant gray and white suit that looked elegant.

What's interesting is that his hands are black with long nails. Many suspect he was wearing black gloves, although there has been no official confirmation.

Dark Past

He does not know who his biological parents are and was raised in the House of the Hearth by a caretaker called "Mother," who was actually the first Fatui Harbinger, Crucabena.

Crucabena educates children there to become assassins, killing each other to become “Kings,” which she considers just an experiment.

For this reason, Peruere, real name Arlecchino, killed Crucabena. Afterwards, Peruere was imprisoned in Snezhnaya, but was pardoned by the Tsaritsa and appointed the new “The Knave”. Since then, Peruere changed his name.

Clervie: Arlecchino's Childhood Friend

When Arlecchino was a child in an orphanage, he had a good friend named Clervie, Crucabena's biological daughter.

Clervie was taken to the House of the Hearth so she could see that all the children there were loved as much as she was. However, Clervie knew her mother wasn't that kind, and only Arlecchino (or Peruere) had similar thoughts.

The two became good friends, although Clervie was ultimately defeated by Peruere in a fight arranged by Crucabena.

Peruere did this to free Clervie according to his wishes and so he could carry out his plan to finish off Crucabena.

Unfaithful to the Tsaritsa

Actually, this is still speculation for some fans. However, after seeing some of the dialogues in the game between Tsaritsa with Arlecchino there is a hint of disloyalty from Arlechinno.

Arlecchino Hates Other Fatui Members

The next fact is that Arlecchino also doesn't like some other Fatui members, such as Pulcinella, who often uses the House of the Hearth for personal gain.

Ever Rebelled House of the Hearth

Now Arlecchino is the leader of the House of the Hearth. However, in the past, Arlechino had rebelled against the orphanage that raised him.

In the teaser for “A Winter Night's Lazzo” it is revealed that Arlecchino once rebelled against the House of the Hearth.

Arlechino is the Strongest Fatui

Although HoYoVerse has not confirmed it, many players speculate that this character is one of the strongest Fautui.

The indicators underlying this fact include Arlecchino being ranked 4th in the Eleven Fatui. Arlechino is also respected and feared by other Fatui members.

Reluctant to Worship Archons

As mentioned before, Arlecchino is not loyal to the Tsaritsa. That is why he does not want to worship the Fatui leader Cyro Archon.

Alechino's attitude adds a layer of complexity to his character and makes many people wonder. What exactly is his purpose and motivation in life which until now remains a mystery.

Why is Arlecchino called "Father"?

Arlecchino is called “Dad” by the children in the House of the Hearth because he doesn't want to be like “Mother” before him.

Although Mother previously seemed perfect with a friendly and gentle attitude, it turns out she was very cruel, making the children kill each other.

As a father, this character chooses to appear cold and unapproachable, but actually cares deeply for and loves the children at the orphanage.
