May 25, 2021 Xiaomi Blacklist Released in the US!

Xiaomi Blacklist Removed US

Xiaomi I can finally breathe a sigh of relief, because in the end the United States released the blacklist on the vendor from which the bamboo curtain came from.

The blacklist provided by the US Department of Defense makes Xiaomi lose money because it has become the subject of an investment ban for all US citizens, based on the NDAA or what we know better as the National Defense Authorization Act.

Xiaomi is suspected of having 'relationships' with the Chinese military or rather Communist Chinese Military Company (CCMC), that's what caused this to happen. Xiaomi immediately denied the accusations and made a follow-up lawsuit to the Washington DC district court.

Reasons for the US Blacklist Xiaomi

Then, do you actually know what caused the US to block Xiaomi? According to the information we get from the Wall Street Journal, the blocking started when Lei Jun, the founder of Xiaomi, received the 'Outstanding Builder of Socialism with Chinese Characteristic' award from China Communication and Informatics (MIIT) in China.

In short, more or less because of that award, Xiaomi is considered a supporter of the Chinese military by the US Department of Defense. What do you think? The US may be a little too suspicious of Xiaomi, right or not?

Blacklisting Xiaomi in the US certainly has a big impact on the company. This is because the US prohibits all companies and citizens from working with or investing with Xiaomi, and several other blacklisted companies.

Xiaomi's appeal to the US Federal court finally bore fruit, in March 2021 Xiaomi was won over these demands by the US Federal Judge, and two days ago, on May 25 2021 to be exact, the US finally officially removed the blacklist of Xiaomi entirely.

FYI, for you guys, the blacklist received by Xiaomi is different from the 'entity list' that hit Huawei. In Huawei's case, all business transactions between Huawei and US companies are strictly prohibited, in contrast to Xiaomi's recent blacklist which resulted in the banning of investment or investment in Xiaomi by all US citizens and companies.

However, in the end, Xiaomi could breathe easy because it was free from the US blacklist bondage. There's just a disaster that befell Xiaomi.
