You Do you know there are actually two applications that recently made Apple look to Indonesia? These two applications are truly the work of the nation's children. Yes, really, daughters. They both became women who initiated their respective applications which in the future are believed to be useful for millions of population in this world. Curious right What are the applications made by them to steal Apple's attention? Kuy, see the following information!
1. Leastric (pronounced "Electricity")
My here gangs, there is a great woman behind the success of this one electricity-saving application called Marilyn Parhusip. An alumni of the Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, he continued his master's studies at the University of Technology, Sydney's Master of Engineering (MEng). Upon returning from Australia, he found his mother angry because the electricity bill had jumped dramatically from Rp. 500,000.00- which changed to Rp. 1000,000.00- where there was no significant difference in usage.
Departing from this problem, he finally brought it up as the topic of his assignment when he became an IOS developer at the Apple Developer Academy Indonesia in 2019 with several of his colleagues. Investigate a calibaration, the reason why this happened turned out to be because the PLN officer originally inputted the data when recording at home, because the meter went too far into the house so when no one was home, they didn't dare to enter.
Finally, this problem Marilyn conveyed to her colleagues who unexpectedly experienced the same thing. Now,, long story short this eventually became the originator of the idea to combine words lease lease electricity, which eventually ended up being the word Leastric. This uniqueness becomes its own characteristic when heard in the ears of Indonesians. the reason is, this application reads as "electricity".
Marilyn emphasized that this Leastric was not a literal power-saving device. However, this application helps plan to reduce electricity consumption so that users of this application can anticipate unnecessary usage by providing a solution for recording electricity used. In addition, it allows users to compare usage from month to month, and determine electricity bills. Technically, Leastric can see which devices consume the most wasteful electricity, then also monitor how much electricity has been used.
Departing from the problem of recording electricity, the mentor gave a three-month deadline for Marilyn and his colleagues to then develop Leastric into an application and be able to exhibit it. This is a tough challenge, thought Marilyn. Because they don't just need to prepare software, but also hardwareto help with monitoring.
2. Hearo, from the word “Hear”
For those of you who are familiar with the film entitled "Unfriended: Dark Web", just like in the film, this application supports difficulties in communicating for friends who are deaf. Is a woman, again a woman yes, named Aisyah Widya Nur Shadrina and six of his friends at the Apple Developer Academy who managed to create a work that is truly useful, called "Hearo".
After that, the word "Hearo" sounds like "Hero" and says the base "Hear", which if translated literally into Indonesian, this application can be called a "hero" for friends who have a deficiency in "hearing". Unique isn't it?
Just like Marilyn, Aisyah also served as an IOS developer who raised the idea of this problem on the topic of her final project. This results in qualified expertise to create applications that save millions of populations in the world. The graduate of Binus Business School created Hearo in 2019.
Technically, Aisyah and her colleagues help deaf friends by taking the time to visit Silent Coffee in Fatmawati. They interviewed many people, one of whom complained about how difficult it was to communicate with a writing partner. This happened because no one in his team could speak sign language. So, do not be surprised if they communicate through typing on the laptop, and this takes a lot of time. you know.
Now,, as the end of the speech, the two women proved that with a brilliant idea and facilitated by a makeshift media, they can implement what they have been passionate about in their field, which can be useful for many parties. Cool!
